For her new astro sculptures, the Danish sculptor Malene Bjelke was inspired by Kähler's long history, in which figures occupy a special place. The result is 12 sculptures dedicated to the twelve signs of the zodiac. They represent a modern interpretation of Kähler's design heritage, which began in the historic ceramics workshop in Denmark, and at the same time have a spiritual focus. All zodiac figures are made of white, unglazed stoneware and have a silhouette-like look. Due to their emphatically raw design, the naturalistic details of the figures acquire a special dynamism and can be viewed from any angle, as in sculptures. Each astro sculpture has been tagged with a word that reflects the values associated with each zodiac sign. The energy of the characteristic features of each sign of the zodiac is expressed through the design of the sculptures. In the astro-sculpture Leo, the expression of the figure is determined by the word strength, which indicates the unique characteristics of this zodiac sign.
